Peter Goss
Peter trained as a general paediatrician at the Royal Childrens Hospital Melbourne gaining his fellowship (FRACP) in 1989 and then pioneered specialist paediatric services in Central and East Gippsland. He established and designed neonatal and children’s wards at Sale and upskilled medical, nursing and allied health staff to create a well-respected paediatric Unit covering that region. In 2006 he resigned from the Central Gippsland Health Service to create the multidisciplinary Gippsland Paediatrics, concentrating on Type 1 diabetes, allergy and general paediatrics.
Peter trained in allergy at the Royal Children Hospital Allergy Unit in 2008 bringing those skills back to Gippsland and in conjunction with Dr Jo McCubbin created the Gippsland Paediatric Allergy Unit servicing children with allergy east from the Latrobe Valley to the NSW border. Peter is a member of ASCIA and has represented the RACP at the National Allergy Summit in 2014 and 2015. He is the co-chair of the Australian Paediatric Society Allergy Working group and organiser of the APS Annual Allergy MasterClass Workshop.
In 2013, Peter established the first on site allergy service in Geelong, working in consulting rooms with Dr Bernie Jenner. The service has grown rapidly and in 2015 moved to the current location at Granada Medical Centre associated with St John of God Hospital Geelong.
Peter has a great interest in gut microbiota and its relationship to infant colic as well as immunotherapy and allergies of all sorts.
He has lectured on allergy, eczema and immunotherapy to medical students, general practitioners and general paediatricians.
Jenny Goss
Jenny is a registered nurse (PANCH 1983) and midwife who now is our allergy nurse as well as Credentialed Diabetes Educator. Jenny has been performing skin prick tests and respiratory function testing since 2008 and sublingual immunotherapy since 2012. She in skilled in EpiPen training and education around anaphylaxis.
Jenny has a special way with children to help overcome any anxiety they may have about skin prick testing and loves the contact with families.
Jenny is also the Practice Manager and hence the leader of the staff.
Tahlia Dyall
Tahlia has been with the team since 2006 and acts as the office manager and receptionist of the practice in Geelong. Tahlia has a good understanding of patient needs and processes required for allergy and immunotherapy but will not advise on any clinical matter.
